With the sight of colorful parols on the street and an updated stream of festive quizzes on BuzzFeed, we know that Christmas is just around the corner. It is almost as if the Philippines receives a head start each year on all the Christmas traditions, including one significant aspect: Christmas music. In fact, ever since the beginning of September, Christmas music is all that we have been hearing on the radio or in cafés. So, in order to help you build your very own Christmas playlist, we have compiled a list of 10 Christmas songs that are not only iconic but are also some of our Bearcats’ top picks. (Songs are randomly numbered.)

1. “Jingle Bell Rock” by Brenda Lee

Whether it be the Mean Girls rendition or the different versions you hear on the radio, “Jingle Bell Rock” is a classic Christmas song that gets everyone in the Christmas spirit. In fact, senior Erin C. believes that “it’s super festive and hypes me up for Christmas every time I listen to it!” If you enjoy listening to slow yet uplifting songs, then you should definitely add “Jingle Bell Rock” to your playlist.

2. “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber

Alongside pop music, Bieber has worked on a full-length Christmas album entitled Under the Mistletoe. “Mistletoe” is the second track on the album, and is arguably one of the most popular songs out of the 15. Senior Sally L. says that “because it is such a cheerful song, you can listen to it all year round.” Be sure to check out “Mistletoe” and the rest of Bieber’s album for more Christmas songs!
